To deepen international educational exchanges and cooperation, broaden disciplinary horizons, and enhance talent training and teaching quality for the Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) program, a delegation from Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), Japan, including Professor Yasuhiro Noishiki, Professor Peiyan Zhou, Lecturer Toshiyuki Takagi and Lecturer Shuhei Kubota, visited the School of Artificial Intelligence of our university at 9:00 a.m. on March 18, 2026. A friendly exchange forum was held in Meeting Room 209, Building 8, West Binhai Campus. Present at the meeting were Wang Yi, Party Secretary of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Zhang Xiankun, Dean, Shi Yancui, Vice Dean, Ning Aijun, Director of the Computer Fundamentals and New Technology Teaching Department, and Liang Qian, Director of the Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) Program. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on core issues such as teaching practice, curriculum development and faculty co-construction for Sino-Japanese programs. Aligning closely with program development needs, they exchanged ideas on talent cultivation drawing on the frontline teaching experience of faculty from both institutions.

During the meeting, participants delved into key topics covering teaching schedules, curriculum development and teaching administration of the Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) program, with particular focus on challenges in frontline teaching. As frontline teaching representatives, Japanese faculty shared their teaching practices and exchanged in-depth views with our faculty on the optimization of imported courses, integration of Japanese language instruction and specialized courses, improvement of the practical teaching system, and establishment of a faculty-student exchange mechanism. Both sides shared experience in classroom instruction, student supervision and course assessment.

It is reported that the Sino-foreign cooperative education program in Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) jointly run by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics has developed a mature training framework. This exchange further consolidated the foundation of bilateral cooperation and built a communication bridge, laying a solid groundwork for deeper program collaboration, teaching resource sharing and joint cultivation of interdisciplinary IT talents.

Dean Zhang Xiankun stated that it is hoped that this exchange will serve as an opportunity to sustain regular bilateral communication, learn from each other’s advanced teaching practices, optimize the curriculum system, strengthen practical teaching, support high-quality development of the program, and cultivate more high-caliber IT talents with global vision and professional competence.

Drawing on his own teaching experience, Professor Yasuhiro Noishiki spoke highly of the achievements of the Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) program at the School of Artificial Intelligence. He noted that as a frontline instructor, he deeply recognizes the alignment between the two institutions’ talent cultivation philosophies. He looks forward to further teaching exchanges and joint research on teaching methods with faculty of the school, expanding cooperation areas and enriching cooperation forms to elevate bilateral collaboration and jointly contribute to nurturing high-caliber IT talents with international outlook and professional expertise.

After the forum, all attendees took a group photo to mark this friendly exchange. This visit not only established a channel for in-depth communication between the two universities, but also targeted the development needs of the Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing) program. It offered valuable insights for curriculum optimization, teaching quality improvement and deeper development of the Sino-foreign cooperative program, further advancing the internationalization of the School of Artificial Intelligence and injecting new momentum for broader international exchanges and cooperation of the program.
