2. Profile and Achievements

(1) Aspire to Greatness and Pursue Dreams with Determination

Firm in faith and committed to leading by example, Hongzhen Yu consistently upholds high standards in both personal conduct and performance. As one of the first students in the cohort to be identified as an applicant for Party membership, Yu took the initiative to organize theoretical study and training sessions, carefully studied the Party's theories, and actively sought to strengthen ties with the Party organization. Following successive stages of training and assessment, Yu was honored to become a member of the Communist Party of China.

During service in the Party branch, Yu organized multiple group study sessions and served as a guide for a red-themed historical map, leading distinctive educational activities on revolutionary history. As a leader within the School's Communist Youth League Committee, Yu focused on youth development and spearheaded more than 20 themed League Day activities and over 10 special study sessions, bringing young people together around shared goals.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to student and Youth League affairs, Yu received several honors, including the University-Level Outstanding Communist Youth League Cadre and the Advanced Individual in Youth League and Student Affairs. Through these efforts, Yu has demonstrated a strong commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Party member.

(2) Pursuing Academic Excellence Through Diligent Study and In-Depth Research

Diligent in learning, thoughtful in inquiry, and committed to excellence, Hongzhen Yu has consistently maintained a rigorous and practical approach to academic study. Throughout four years of university, Yu has devoted considerable effort to mastering specialized knowledge, exploring the field in depth, and building a solid theoretical foundation. Yu achieved scores of 95 or above in 20 courses and scores of 80 or above in more than 60 courses, ranking first in the major in overall academic performance for two consecutive years.

In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, Yu received seven scholarships, including the National Scholarship, the Tianyan Scholarship, and the National Encouragement Scholarship, which was awarded twice. These accomplishments reflect years of sustained effort and dedication.

Alongside academic studies, Yu has actively pursued research and innovation, taking part in multiple science and technology projects to strengthen research capabilities through hands-on experience. Yu received more than 20 research- and innovation-related awards, including university-level awards in the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition and the 13th “Challenge Cup” Competition. A university-level innovation and entrepreneurship training program was successfully completed. Yu has also published a design patent and an EI-indexed conference paper, further demonstrating the ability to translate academic knowledge into tangible achievements and establish a strong foundation for professional development.

(3) Taking Responsibility and Leading Through Action

Committed to responsibility, service, and contribution, Hongzhen Yu demonstrates the dedication of young people through concrete action. Having served as class monitor, Deputy Secretary of the School's Communist Youth League Committee, and a student mentor for incoming freshmen, Yu has remained committed to serving fellow students, addressing their needs, and contributing to the School's development.

Yu took the lead in organizing the 9th Science and Technology Culture Festival, which attracted more than 3,000 student participants and helped foster a vibrant campus culture of scientific and technological innovation.

As a student member of the Communist Party of China, Yu remains mindful of the responsibilities and aspirations of young people. Yu organized a student outreach team to Huliangzhuang Village, Daquiuzhuang Town, Jinghai District, for a two-week social practice program titled “Empowering Rural Dreams with AI: Turning Vision into Achievement.” By integrating professional expertise with local community needs, the team focused on rural revitalization and carried out activities including teaching at a primary school and helping local farmers harvest agricultural produce. The initiative was covered by multiple media outlets, including Xuexi Qiangguo and China Daily.

Through conscientious and dedicated service, Yu has received numerous honors, including the University-Level Outstanding Student Leader award on three occasions and recognition as an Outstanding Student Officer of the School of Artificial Intelligence. Yu has also devoted more than 550 hours to volunteer service, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility and a commitment to making meaningful contributions as a young person in the new era.
