In order to implement the spirit of the National Education Conference, steadily advance the school's "Pioneer Program", continuously improve the college's "three-full education" system, and deepen the leading role of tutors in students' growth process, the Teaching and Research Department of Computer Basics and New Technologies of the College of Artificial Intelligence at Tianjin University of Science and Technology recently held a series of publicity activities, including the "Collective Meeting of Freshmen Tutors and Professional Introduction for the 2024 Class of the Sino-Japanese Cooperative Major in Computer Science and Technology (Information Processing)". Director Liang Qian, the person in charge of the Sino-Japanese computer major, Counselor Zhao Jianli, all undergraduate tutors in the Department of Computer Basics, and all freshmen of the 2024 class of the Sino-Japanese computer major participated in the activity. The activity was hosted by Man Chunlei, the deputy secretary of the Party branch of the Teaching Staff of the Department of Computer Basics.

At the beginning of the meeting, Teacher Man Chunlei introduced the educational achievements of the college's undergraduate tutorial system, introduced the participating teachers to all the freshmen one by one, and provided the freshmen with academic guidance information, enhancing the freshmen's understanding of the school and the college.

The first presentation was mainly about the major introduction, and was given by Teacher Liang Qian, the director of the Department of Computer Science and Technology and the person in charge of the major. Director Liang comprehensively and in detail introduced the major situation from the aspects of the major's brief overview, training objectives, teaching mode, teaching organization, curriculum system, and graduation requirements, pointed out the advantages of the major, constructed a systematic cognitive system for the freshmen, and clarified the goal and direction of their efforts. Director Liang emphasized that once on the path of the computer major, one should strive for it throughout one's life, and encouraged the students to use learning, change, and innovation to lead to the future world.

The second presentation was mainly about the cultivation of college students' qualities, and was given by Teacher Ning Aijun, the director of the Department of Computer Basics. Director Ning started with the theme of "A Wonderful College Life, Creating a Bright Future", and expanded from the three aspects of study, life, and planning. He emphasized that in college life, personal qualities such as self-discipline, diligence, and patience are indispensable, and one should also make full use of free time to enrich oneself. He inspired the students to actively use various resources in college life to improve their humanistic qualities, promote effective communication in social interactions, and improve their team cooperation ability, so as to enrich themselves and promote their career development.

The third presentation was mainly about ideological and psychological education, and was given by Teacher Wang Shujing, the secretary of the Party branch of the Teaching Staff of the Department of Computer Basics. Secretary Wang explained the necessity of ideological and psychological construction, and the students should correctly recognize their identity transformation, deepen self-cognition, and enhance mental toughness. Then, Secretary Wang introduced the conditions and basic procedures for joining the Party to the students, required the students to love and support the Party, and encouraged the students to actively join the Party organization. This further enhanced the students' ideological awareness and psychological qualities.

The fourth presentation was mainly about professional competition guidance, and was given by Teacher Li Wei, a teacher in the Department of Computer Basics. Teacher Li took the theme of "Training on the Use of Large Models and Algorithm Competitions", and in detail explained the principles and use methods of large models and the learning skills of algorithms to the freshmen. Through simple and vivid examples, he made the obscure content clearer. At the same time, he also introduced the basic situation of relevant competitions, making the freshmen aware of the key role of professional competitions in their studies and personal career development, and further promoting their enthusiasm for participating in competitions.

Relying on the "Three-Full Education" comprehensive reform plan of the Ministry of Education, the College of Artificial Intelligence continues to deepen educational reforms, actively explores the implementation path of the "Undergraduate Foundation Strengthening" of the "Pioneer Program", fully implements the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping when inspecting Tianjin, steadily promotes the high-quality connotative development of the school, and realizes the improvement of quality and efficiency in the school's innovative talent training and social service.
